‘Tell me on a Sunday’ Swansea Grand Arts Wing. 5 - By far the most focused piece to date from the relatively new Samuel Bryce Productions,
this absorbing one- The intimate nature of the performance space lent itself well to the work, though the production might have benefited from more instrumentation than a single piano accompaniment. For all that, Sherratt's strong vocals and sassy attitude carried it through splendidly and the songs — including the soaringly beautiful Unexpected Song — were delivered with absolute conviction. The segments which had the character sending letters to her mother contrasted sharply with the intensity and drama of the other numbers. But a little light relief is no bad thing. It would be good for the company to attempt this kind of show more often. It is clear that it already has a loyal following, and it will be interesting to see it grow in stature.
