The Stage
‘Nobody Does It Like Me, sang superb personality vocalist Eve Sherratt and I dare say no-one does. After all, who else can combine light opera with mainstream cabaret and even throw in such copious dollops of humour to boot? A representative of a market-leading company in the cruise business told me recently that Eve Sherratt was his current favourite female solo artist. I can only say that Sherratt is entirely natural in terms of her stage persona, dresses elegantly, sings superbly, but more than anything else she is a born entertainer who, in any other age in show business, would be an enormous star on television by now.’

‘Have seen her perform three times now and every time she is an absolute treat to watch and listen to. If you get the chance to see or hear her go for it you will not be disappointed’

‘Recently saw this lady sing in Cardiff, wonderful! A great Welsh talent!’

Max Boyce
‘By far the most professional and talented lady I have ever worked with and who has one of the best voices I have heard’

That evening we were lucky enough to view the remarkable vocal talents of a Ms Eve Sherratt. This woman crooned a pop song, belted out a show tune and sang an aria consecutively with little difficulty skipping between genres. I not only snagged a picture with her, but gladly spent 13 pounds on her solo album.

‘Our favourite was a girl called Eve Sherratt who has a fantastic voice and is a great all round entertainer.’

Tony & Debbie - Island Star
‘The guest singer Eve Sherratt was one of the best we have seen and would have paid top Dollar to have seen her in Las Vagas’

‘Tell me on a Sunday’ Swansea Grand Arts Wing. 5 - 7 February 2009

By far the most focused piece to date from the relatively new Samuel Bryce Productions, this absorbing one-act song cycle — composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Don Black, and directed by Lyndon Samuel — starred gutsy vocalist Eve Sherratt as a British singleton in New York (think of a musical cross between Bridget Jones and Sex and the City and you get an idea of the flavour).

The intimate nature of the performance space lent itself well to the work, though the production might have benefited from more instrumentation than a single piano accompaniment. For all that, Sherratt's strong vocals and sassy attitude carried it through splendidly and the songs — including the soaringly beautiful Unexpected Song — were delivered with absolute conviction.

The segments which had the character sending letters to her mother contrasted sharply with the intensity and drama of the other numbers. But a little light relief is no bad thing.

It would be good for the company to attempt this kind of show more often. It is clear that it already has a loyal following, and it will be interesting to see it grow in stature.
